Korean snacks and instant noodles are often the first K-Food items to reach new markets. They are shelf-stable, easy to ship, and benefit from the popularity of Korean culture.
Building an assortment
- Ramyeon — spicy, mild and non-fried options; cup and bag formats.
- Seaweed snacks — seasoned gim in small packs, very popular in Western retail.
- Rice snacks — puffed rice, rice crackers and gangjeong.
- Traditional sweets — yakgwa and hangwa, popular as gifts.
- Drinks — fruit teas, sikhye and flavored beverages to complete the range.
Branded vs. private label
Large Korean brands export through their own distributors. Independent factories are usually open to private label, which gives you margin and an exclusive product. For seasoning-heavy items like ramyeon, check vegetarian and halal options early.
Shelf life and rotation
Snacks commonly have 6–12 months of shelf life from production. Account for shipping and customs time when agreeing on minimum remaining shelf life at delivery.
